Technology is varying day to day. Desktop computers are replaced with Laptop computers which are one of the amazing pieces of new technology.
The laptops allow the individual to take enormous computing control with you wherever you go. Unluckily, some of the ergonomic features are cooperated for the sake of moveably. The biggest ergonomic hits are posture, keyboard spacing, screen size and positioning, and pointing devices etc. Laptops are specially designed for the portable use, but many people use these as a desktop computer also. In spite of the deprived ergonomics inbuilt in most of the laptops, certain steps can be taken to produce a sound ergonomic laptop system as a desktop.
For better workplace and use of correct ergonomics and to minimize the risk of Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) and to avoid the crippling disorders, following the following tips.
Feet: While sitting at the desk, your feet must rest on the floor comfortably. Adjustable chair or footrest can be used for this purpose.
Knees: Be sure that you have enough space for the work surface under the knees and legs. Avoid the pressure points with the underside of the thigh near your knee and the backside of the lower leg. Stretch the legs very often during the whole day.
Legs: Leave the electric desk frequently and take some little walks. Be sure about the position of your legs. Don’t limit the leg space. Sit with the straight legs, don’t twist or cross them.
Posture: If you sit still for long time, it can create strain to muscles and discomfort. So change your posture many times during the day. Pay special attention to your posture in the afternoon. Try to leave the desk by filing paperwork, taking paper from the printer or to see subordinates at some distance from you.
Sitting: The seat should be tilted towards the edge of the seat you can place the cushion at the chair .
Lower Back: Try to use that chair which supports your body.
Position of head: Sit straight as head to be held forward of your shoulders.
Shoulders & Elbows: Adjust the height of chair or key board while sitting at the computer so your shoulders and elbows relaxed.
